The presence of current Fiji 7s players in the likes of Sakenasa Aca and Sailosi Raboniqica together with 7s coach Manasa Bari greatly boosted the performance of young rugby players in Taveuni.

The three were part of the Fiji Police National 7s team that piloted the Policing Fiji through Rugby initiative in Taveuni.

The police team also featuring former national players like Epeli Vuniwaqa, Josevata Bola and Sitiveni Waqa were very popular while touring Taveuni with many young fans requesting autographs and photographs with them.

The team conducted rugby clinics for primary school students in Wairiki Primary, Niusawa Primary, Naselesele Primary and Wainikeli District School.

The experience and rugby tips shared by the big names of sevens rugby in the police team was evident in the high performance of players during the Taveuni Milo Kaji rugby competition last weekend.

Together with rugby clinics the police team also conducted awareness campaigns targeting the rise in sexual offences in the Northern Division and the 2009 Crime Decree.
