The Community Policing Unit in the Northern Division has stepped up their involvement with schools in the Northern Division since the inception of the Blue Light Programme there.

The introduction of scripture union in schools has begun in some schools as a way of networking with secondary school students in the North.

Scripture unions are aimed at providing moral support and value based support to students and this has been working a lot said Corporal Jona Semo of the Community Policing Unit Northern.

"Children have been coming up to us and sharing their problems and any difficulties that they have been facing and we have been giving them counseling and moral support", he said.
