The Labasa Town Council and the Northern TIV Sangam organized a one day soccer tournament for all business houses and communities part of their flood appeal drive.

The tournament is jointly sponsored by business houses and institutions within Labasa Town.

Six teams participated in the one day tournament including the Labasa Police Station Soccer Team who managed to book a spot in the final against the Bocaisau team which fielded many Labasa Team players.

Team cohesiveness and the magic boots of Constable Isoa Rabici gave the side their first goal within the first few minutes of play.

The score was answered by their opponents during the second half of the game locking the scores at 1-all at full time. Following a penalty shoot-out the Labasa Police Soccer team bowed out after their opponents slotted in two goals to claim victory by 3-1.

Corporal Gyan Singh police soccer president for the Labasa wing said that they had entered the competition as a way of contributing to the flood appeal for the families of police who were victims of the recent flood in the West.
