Operation Tuwawa is underway as the Police Force implements its strategies for the safety and security of the public at the Battle of the Giants Tournament staged at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.

The operation covers:

 Flow of traffic

·          Safety and security of public

·          Smooth flow of the tournament

·          Security of homes and property

·          Awareness on law, crime prevention tips

The force expects a crowd of about 10,000 people with a high volume of traffic.

Three major parking spots have been identified at Cakobau Park Number 2, Coconut Park toward the Vunimono end of the town and at Syria Park.

Officers will also be deployed to rural areas to safeguard vacant properties and homes.

About 100 police officers from Vunidawa, Korovou and Nakasi have been mobilized in Operation Tuwawa.

Divisional Police Commander Eastern SSP Marika Yalimaiwai and his team are also monitoring developments at Syria Park in Nausori where up to 200 youths from around the country are celebrating National Youth Day.

The Eastern team is using the opportunity of both the BOG and the youth festival to interact with the community and create awareness on various issues like civic pride, law enforcement, drugs, child welfare decree.
