People can now expect improved and efficient service delivery from the Police Stations in Nadi, Namaka and Sabeto area after they were blessed with three new vehicles.
The vehicles which were donated by the Pratap family of Pratap Asphalt Quarries Ltd in Nadi.
Chief Guest Land Force Commander Col. Mosese Tikoitoga upon receiving the vehicles, on behalf of the government thanked Mr Pratap for his kind generosity.
"The donation Mr. Pratap has given today indicates the big heart and courage he has", says Col Tikoitoga.
The Prataps, have been in business since 1941, and has a renowned background for community service and donations.
They have participated in major developments in the country such as the upgrading of our International Airport runways, the pavement of the newly built FNU Campus in Namaka, Nadi Link by Pass Road and many more.
The donations of the vehicles really boosted the morale of the Fiji Police Force in a time where many have looked down upon the services and response from the Force.
Col Tikoitoga reminded the business house of Nadi and Namaka not to ridicule the Force but try to do something that will help them improve their service.
"As a former British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli said "You can only give what you have", I urge you the business people of Nadi to reflect upon that saying. The Government can only give what it has, and if it does not have the resources, then if you have it, then perhaps you can give the little you have", adds on Col Tikoitoga.
Upon receiving the vehicles, Col thanked the Pratap family for their generosity in giving the little that they had. Most of the major stakeholders and businessman that were present to witness Mr Pratap's donation, were challenged by Col Tikoitoga.
Mr. Pratap indicated that the donation was only possible after the Government reduced the tax import rate and he also revealed that his company will donate a new ambulance to the Nadi Hospital in the few months to come.
"We are in the process of donating an ambulance to the Nadi Hospital to help improve their service delivery", says Mr. Pratap.
The Force is thankful for the kind contribution of Mr Pratap and is looking forward to an efficient service delivery in Nadi-Namaka corridor.
The 3 new vehicles donated have been allocated for Namaka, Nadi and Sabeto Police Station.
