The Crime Free Unit and the Ministry of Youth and Sports are jointly working on a Back to Back Workshop planned to be taking place in Suva after the Hibiscus Festival this August.

The reason for the choice of this date is that most people will be around the Suva area after this yearly festival.

This workshop will be targeting youth especially street kids who are trying to get back into their villages and respective communities but have been unable to do so due to their inability to reintegrate back into their own communities.
One reason for this problem is the feeling of being neglected by families, relatives and stigma associated to these kids. Crime Free is also liaising with some local NGOs including UNICEF for this crime free initiative.

This is a move to tackle the problems associating street kids and the escalating numbers of young people now on the streets in Suva and other town areas in Fiji.

Street kids will soon be involved in a Healthy city initiative in partnership with the Crime Free Unit. This is part of Crime Free involvement with the communities.

The street kids have been earmarked to attend aerobics classes, maintaining the general look of the city and involve in organized sports and competitions.
The concept of Healthy city programme includes the overall physical health of the city, and the physical and mental health of street kids who have called the city streets as their homes. The healthy city initiative will be a combine partnership of the SCC, Ministry of Health, WHO, local NGOs and some other government organizations.
