bluelight northVenues for this year's Blue Light programme have finally been decided and Bucalevu Secondary School in Taveuni will cater for the Cakaudrove Blue light zone while Labasa College in Labasa will cater for the Bua, Macuata zone.

Women Constable Merewalesi Mocetoka of the Community Policing Office at the Northern Police Headquarters yesterday confirmed that the Cakaudrove zone will be holding their blue light programme during the August school break, while the Bua, Macuata one will be held during the last school break in December.

The Garden Island of Taveuni braces itself for the upcoming first ever Blue Light Programme to be held at Bucalevu Secondary School on the Island.

The Blue Light Programme is held annually by the Community Policing Department in the Fiji Police Force in a bid to maintain a closer link with secondary school students who are mostly in their adolescent stage of life at this tier of the Education curriculum.

Community policing officer at the Taveuni Police Station, Special Inspector Joseva Ganilau said that the possibility of including Rabi High School to the programme is still being planned.

The programme which was initially introduced into the North for Vanualevu at Savusavu Secondary School will this year be held on Taveuni too for the first time ever.
