Lautoka Policing District started their four-day operation “Veiqaravi” on Wednesday targeting the offences of Burglary, Robbery, Assault, Sexual Offences and Theft.

The operation was launched by the Lautoka City Council Special Administrator, Joseva Vucago.

Its day 23 of the Recruit’s Course currently under way at The Fiji Police Academy, and for most officers, it is becoming the survival of the fittest.

As the saying goes when the going gets tough only the tough gets going, said one of the recruits.

Eleven Eastern traffic officers in a joint operation with the Land Transport Authority have seized 18 private vehicles yesterday.

This is done to stop illegal operation of vans and private cars.

The Community policing has reinstated a Scholastic Crime Stoppers Program with hopes of creating a safer and crime free learning environment in schools.

With schools and students in the greater Suva area being the target audience, the program which is promoted by the Crime Stoppers department hopes to promote a safe and sound living in schools.
